1. ACCESS
1.1. These terms and conditions (Terms) set out the rules governing Maraenui Golf Club membership and access to the Maraenui Golf Club website.
2. MEMBER SIGNUP / REGISTRATION
2.1 By registering you are becoming an affiliated member of New Zealand Golf, and a member ofMaraenui Golf Club, implying full acceptance of these Terms, including any changes that may be made to the Terms from time to time.
2.2 To become a Maraenui Golf Club member, the person must register and provide the information requested accurately. Personal information provided at the time of registration is presumed to be true
and correct. It is your responsibility to update personal information as and when necessary.
2.3 Persons may only register once. Registration is for a single person only.
2.4 Maraenui Golf Club members consent to the disclosure of their personal information, including but not limited to their name, email address, and golf scores onto the New Zealand Golf site, to any
person who visits the New Zealand Golf site, or members who log into the Maraenui Golf Club website.
2.5 Maraenui Golf Club members consent to receiving communication from New Zealand Golf, Maraenui Golf Club, its contractors, and sponsors, provided that such communications comply with the requirements of the Privacy Act 2020 and any other applicable privacy legislation. Members retain the right to opt out of receiving non-essential promotional or marketing communications at any time.
3. PROVISIONAL MEMBERSHIP
3.1 Applications submitted through the Maraenui Golf Club website may be accepted as Provisional Memberships.
3.2 A Provisional Membership allows the applicant limited playing and facility rights as determined by the Club. Full membership rights (including voting rights) are not granted until the application has been formally reviewed and approved by the Club’s Membership Committee or Board.
3.3 Provisional Members must comply with all Club rules, codes of conduct, and these Terms and Conditions. Any breach may result in immediate cancellation of provisional status.
3.4 Provisional Memberships are offered at the discretion of the Club and may be declined or cancelled at any time without obligation to provide reason.
3.5 Upon approval, a Provisional Membership will automatically convert into a Full Membershipcategory as determined by the Club, with applicable fees and entitlements.
4. MEMBERSHIP
4.1 You agree to join Maraenui Golf Club for the period of 12 months, or as specified on yourapplication form. The full subscription year starts on the first of October and ends on the last day ofSeptember.
4.2 Your Maraenui Golf Club membership will continue indefinitely until cancelled. The recurring membership fee will be automatically deducted at the end of your current subscription period if automated billing is set up for your account.
4.3 When you pay using your debit or credit card, the system automatically stores your credit card details to enable you to pay for the same / other services on the site. Credit card details are stored under heavy encryption by a third-party payment provider, Payment Express, and not on the DotGolf system. Read the Payment Express Privacy Policy here.
5. PAYING BY INSTALMENT
5.1 You agree to join Maraenui Golf Club as a monthly paying member as specified on your application form. Monthly payments are payable in advance, not in arrears.
5.2 When you pay using your debit or credit card, the system automatically stores your credit card details to enable you to pay for the same / other services on the site. Credit card details are stored under heavy encryption by a third-party payment provider, Payment Express, and not on the DotGolf system. Read the Payment Express Privacy Policy here.
6. MEMBERSHIP ENTITLEMENTS
6.1 See the benefits listed on the Membership Options page.
6.2 As an affiliate of New Zealand Golf, your membership entitles you to an official New Zealand Golf handicap, a 7-digit ID number will provide you access to golf.co.nz, access to the New Zealand Golf App and Tee Booking App, and receive any benefits associated with New Zealand Golf promotions and New Zealand Golf’s partner promotions.
6.3 If you were previously a member of our club, or another golf club, you can obtain your history of scores.
6.4 As a member of an official affiliated club of New Zealand Golf, you are entitled to an offer for affiliated green fee rates, noting an offer for affiliated green fee rates is at the full discretion of a golf club.
7. FEES
7.1 You agree to pay a membership subscription fee, as set out on the club website and on the Application Form.
7.2 If you have a billing card, fees will be charged and billed to your nominated debit/credit card.
7.3 There may be changes to your membership fees. If there are, we will give you notice before this takes effect.
7.4 If paying online through the club website, you agree to pay the applicable online transaction fee(s).
8. OVERDUE PAYMENTS
8.1 If your credit card payment or direct debit payment hasn’t been processed, we will communicate with you to settle your account, so you can continue to receive the benefits of being a Maraenui Golf Club member.
8.2 It is your responsibility to keep your account in funds and to pay all of your own bank fees, including any fees which your bank charges if your account is overdrawn because of our direct debit. If any of your direct debits or credit card payments fail, we will either add the outstanding sum to the next direct debit or make additional direct debits to recover the overdue amount.
8.3 If your account with us is more than 4 weeks in arrears, we will cancel your Maraenui Golf Club
membership, with or without notice.
9. OUR LIABILITY TO YOU
9.1 You have rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986. Other than those rights and the rights given to you under this contract: we will not be liable to you for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage or injury of any kind to you or your property, however it arises. Compensation for personal injury by accident in New Zealand is covered by The Accident Compensation Act 2001.
9.2 We will not be obliged to give you any refund of fees paid for your membership if you fail to use your membership or terminate early, before the end of your subscription period.
10. CANCELLATION PROCESS
10.1 If you want to cancel your Maraenui Golf Club membership, please contact the club.
10.2 At any time, we can terminate your membership immediately by giving you notice in writing or by email if we reasonably believe you have seriously breached an important term of this contract, including:
- if your account with us is more than 4 weeks in arrears
- breaching any rules such as carrying out any illegal, offensive, or unsafe activity on the premises of any affiliated New Zealand Golf club
If we do terminate your membership under this clause because of your serious breach of this contract, we are still entitled to recover our costs and losses under this contract.
11. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
11.1 Maraenui Golf Club may change or delete any of these Terms at any time.
11.2 Maraenui Golf Club members are responsible for checking the Terms regularly to review any such changes.
11.3 Continued participation in Maraenui Golf Club following the publication of any changes to the Terms confirms participants’ acceptance of those changes.
12. PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION
12.1 Maraenui Golf Club collects, stores, and uses personal information provided by members for the purposes of administering memberships, managing Club operations, communicating with members, and fulfilling obligations to New Zealand Golf.
12.2 Personal information may be shared with third parties including New Zealand Golf, contractors engaged by the Club, and sponsors, but only to the extent necessary to provide services, benefits, or opportunities associated with Club membership.
12.3 Maraenui Golf Club will take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is protected against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification, or disclosure, in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.
12.4 Members have the right to access and request correction of their personal information held by Maraenui Golf Club. Requests should be made in writing to the Club office.
12.5 By applying for or renewing membership, members acknowledge and consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal information as described in these Terms and Conditions.
